Brick & Stucco Painting in Niagara Region

Painting brick or stucco can transform a dated exterior, but masonry needs to breathe. The wrong paint traps moisture inside the wall, and in a climate with freeze-thaw cycles that can lead to peeling paint and damaged brick faces.

We start by assessing the masonry: damaged mortar, efflorescence and active moisture problems need to be fixed before any coating goes on. Then we clean the surface, let it dry, and apply breathable masonry primers and paints or mineral-based stains made for brick and stucco.

Painting brick is hard to reverse, so we will talk through the pros and cons honestly before you decide.

We provide brick and stucco painting across Niagara Region, including St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, Grimsby, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Fort Erie. Call (647) 797-9471 for a free estimate.

Brick & Stucco Painting questions

Brick & Stucco Painting FAQs

Common questions about brick & stucco painting.

Is it a good idea to paint brick?+
It can be, if the brick is sound and you use a breathable masonry coating. Painted brick needs repainting over time, and the decision is hard to undo, so we discuss it honestly first.
What paint is used on brick?+
Breathable masonry paints or mineral-based stains that let moisture escape. Ordinary exterior house paint is not ideal on brick.
Can you paint stucco?+
Yes. We clean the stucco, fill cracks and apply an elastomeric or masonry coating suited to the surface.
Do you repoint mortar?+
Repointing is mason's work. If mortar needs repair, we recommend having it done first and we paint once it has cured.
What about interior brick?+
Interior brick walls and fireplaces can be painted too, with products suited to the surface and any heat exposure.
