Exterior House Painting for Niagara Region Homes

Exterior paint has a hard job in Niagara Region: summer sun, humidity off the lakes, driving rain and freeze-thaw cycles all winter. Paint fails early when it goes over chalky, peeling or damp surfaces, so most of our exterior work happens before the first coat. We wash the house, scrape and sand loose paint, replace failed caulking, fill and prime bare wood, and only then apply finish coats.

We paint wood and fibre-cement siding, trim, soffits and fascia, porches and railings, front doors, garage doors, shutters and window frames. We schedule exterior work for dry weather above the minimum temperature on the paint label, which in southern Ontario usually means late spring through early fall.

Your quote spells out exactly which surfaces are included, the prep for each, the product and the number of coats, so you can compare it fairly against other estimates.

We provide exterior house painting across Niagara Region, including St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, Grimsby, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Fort Erie. Call (647) 797-9471 for a free estimate.

Exterior Painting questions

Exterior Painting FAQs

Common questions about exterior painting.

When is the best time to paint a house exterior in Ontario?+
Late spring to early fall, on dry days when the air and surface temperatures stay above the minimum on the paint label (often 10°C, lower for some products) and no rain is expected while the paint cures.
How long does exterior paint last?+
It depends on prep, product, colour and exposure. Well-prepared surfaces with quality paint typically last many years longer than paint applied over peeling or dirty siding. South and west walls and lakeside homes wear fastest.
Do you pressure wash before painting?+
We wash every exterior before painting. On soft or older wood we use low pressure or hand washing so we do not raise the grain or force water behind the siding.
Can you paint my house if it has lead paint?+
Homes built before 1960 are likely to have lead paint, and many built up to 1990 may. We follow lead-safe practices such as wet scraping, containment and careful clean-up, and we will discuss it with you during the estimate.
Do I need to be home during exterior painting?+
No. We need access to outdoor power and water, and we ask that windows stay closed while we work near them.
